This year, Lutheran Family Services of Virginia will be celebrating its 125th anniversary of service. The Rev. William S. McClanahan would most likely be astonished to know that the Children’s Home he worked so hard to bring into existence in 1888 has evolved into an organization that has helped restore life’s rich promise to thousands of children, families, and individuals throughout Virginia.

We are happy to announce that Lutheran Family Services is again be sponsoring the Hearts & Hands service award, first celebrated in 2008 in honor of our 120th anniversary. As in 2008, the award honors individuals whose passion, energy and delight in service are changing lives and creating brighter futures. We have received almost two dozen wonderful entries and look forward to announcing winners in May. You can read about previous winners here!
