Family Care Homes help adults with disabilities live a full and rich life

Family Care Home providers make it possible for individuals with intellectual disabilities to live abundant and independent lives in their communities. In your Family Care Home, you provide a nurturing family setting in which individuals can accomplish their goals for medical, dietary, personal care and daily living needs.

We understand that becoming a Family Care Home is a big step, and that in many ways it is similar to starting your own business. That is where the compassionate and skilled staff of Lutheran Family Services comes in. We walk with you along every step of the way, through training, getting your home approved, creating a support plan for our individual and managing the paperwork. And, then we continue to provide monthly support to help you create an environment where your individual can thrive.

Deciding to become a Family Care Home is a big decision, and we know that you won’t make it overnight. In case you were not aware, this rewarding opportunity can also be available to families who are currently caring for a family member with intellectual disabilities. Please know, too, that you do not have to be Lutheran to become a Family Care Home provider.
