There are many commemorative months that help build awareness about the needs of the individuals we serve. Some of them are Developmental Disabilities Awareness month in March, Autism Awareness Month in April, Foster Care Awareness Month in May and Adoption Awareness Month is in November. Activities held during these months help bring attention to the needs of children, families and adults. The Hampton and Richmond locations of LFSVA work with area churches to celebrate autism awareness month each April with a pinwheel project. For more information call 1 (800) 359-3834.
