Lutheran Family Services continues to benefit from the caring and hard work of Lutheran congregations during the Week of Service. Members of Bedford Lutheran Church returned for a second time to hold a worship service and outdoor potluck dinner for the residents of the LFSVA Turning Point group homes in Bedford. Pastor Jon Myers brought his guitar to lead the singing and residents enjoyed delicious food. Hopes are that this great evening of fellowship will be an annual event.

Further south, members of Rural Retreat Lutheran Parish worked their landscaping magic on the grounds of the Wytheville Minnick School, removing overgrown bushes, planting and mulching. The difference is amazing! We thank these faithful volunteers for their hard work on behalf of the individuals who live in our group homes and the students and staff who will be enjoying their school’s spiffy new look.
