The holiday seasons is one of the best times of the year. Family and friends get together to reflect on their blessings, exchange thoughtful gifts, and celebrate the start of a new year. Many are moved to give back during this time, but the few short weeks that are jam-packed with celebration can make it tough to fit in a volunteer shift. Lutheran Family Services of Virginia is always thankful to receive a monetary donation, but if you’re looking for a unique way to give back, we’ve put together three ways that will fit into your joyful and busy holiday schedule.
Amazon Smile is an easy way to give back to LFSVA anytime you shop on Amazon. Go to smile.amazon.com, search for Lutheran Family Services of Virginia, and choose Lutheran Family Services of Virginia as your organization. Once selected, all that’s left to do is shop! Amazon will donate 0.5% of the price of your eligible purchases right back to LFSVA.
Box Tops for Education
LFSVA’s Minnick Schools participate in the Box Tops for Education program. Find the Box Tops labels on food and household items you already buy, clip them, and mail them to LFSVA. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents – and they add up quickly! If you want to give back through the Box Tops program, you can mail your Box Tops to our main office:

Amazon Wish Lists
LFSVA keeps Amazon Wish Lists of items requested by program managers. These items include books or materials for Minnick School classrooms, household items for group homes, and games and activities for Day Support Centers. You can choose the exact item you want to donate, purchase it through Amazon and have it shipped directly to LFSVA. Please include your name and contact information so we can send you a thank you! You can view our Wish Lists here.
Lutheran Family Services is thankful for its donors and volunteers who provide their support – whether it’s once a year or year-round. Contributions from the community help enhance the work being done to provide abundant opportunities for the individuals that we serve.
