This split/tri-level style home is located in a quiet setting with low traffic volume. The inviting covered porch in the back is perfect for enjoyment all year. The home is in close proximity to shopping and community activities, both in Salem and Roanoke City. The provider enjoys attending community events and festivals year round.

The provider has significant experience in the field and in nursing care. The provider has a large extended family and enjoys pets. She wishes to open her home to an individual with intellectual disabilities that she can share her time and family with. The provider does have a small cat living in the home.

This beautiful and spacious home sits on an expansive plot of land that is perfect for nature lovers. The environment is a great place to relax and enjoy company and fellowship with others. The neighbors are friendly and have horses for animal lovers.

The providers have extensive experience in the human service field. The wife is a certified nursing assistant, while the husband is a retired pastor. The family is active, loves people, and enjoys gardening, eating out, and sightseeing. The family is looking to open there hearts and home to an individual to share their life with. There are no pets in the home.

The provider enjoys welcoming others and being helpful in any way she can. She enjoys going to church, fishing, camping, family gatherings, and eating out. She has previous experience working with individuals with disabilities and would like to continue that work in her home. She currently has 3 small dogs living with her.

Beautiful ranch style home located in a quiet, low traffic subdivision. Hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, skylights, and areas to enjoy the outdoors are a few of the many characteristics that make this house feel like a home. The friendly, helpful neighbors also make living here enjoyable.

The provider and his family enjoy participating in church activities, visiting/helping at local nursing homes, fishing, swimming, attending museums, and other activities available in the community. The provider has over ten years of experience working with individuals with special needs. His wife also has experience working with a wide range of ages and stages of development through the Virginia Public School System. The provider and his wife would love to welcome an individual into their home. They also have two very friendly medium sized dogs that stay.

And. it is within a short walking distance to a day support center for individuals with intellectual disabilities in a quiet neighborhood. The huge front yard is great for outdoor activities, and there are two family rooms and three and a half bathrooms. The family care provider has worked with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for many years and was an assistant to a family care home before opening her own home. She and her husband enjoy travelling to area attractions and church events and are eager to include their individual in their activities. There is one other male occupant in the home. The home is not wheelchair accessible.

The home is comfortable for all seasons, equipped with A/C and a fireplace downstairs. The deck is easily accessible with handrails and nice patio furniture.

The provider has many years of experience caring for others, including one-on-one supervision and elder care. She enjoys church activities, walking, shopping, visiting friends and family, and eating out. She would like to open her home to an individual to share in all life has to offer.

Danville/Southside

The neighborhood is quiet and conveniently situated close to a mall and other shopping areas. The couple has experience working with special needs individuals, and with mental health, mentoring, and case management. They are church oriented, love family gatherings and traveling, and are truly looking forward to welcoming a new member into their home. There are no pets in this household.

This welcoming split-level home has 3 spacious bedrooms and ample room for leisure activities. The home is minutes away from entertainment, restaurants, and medical attention. The friendly and inviting neighbors are an additional bonus.
The provider previously worked with the public in code enforcement. She is certified in First Aid, CPR, and Crisis Prevention Intervention. She enjoys traveling, church fellowship, concerts, bowling, and various other leisure activities. She has two adult children and desires to provide a nurturing, loving environment for an individual living in her home.

Family Care Home in Java, Virginia

Located in a rural area on a large lot, this tranquil, recently constructed ranch-style home has four bedrooms and a very large family room with an activity area. The residence is close to small towns and on a road with little traffic. This family care provider has worked for many years with individuals with disabilities. She formerly directed a group home and assisted a family member who is also a family care home provider. The provider and her family, a husband and son, are active in their church and enjoy outdoor activities, cookouts, taking trips, watching football and doing seasonally related things. There are no other occupants in the home at this time. There is one indoor pet.

The level lot has a huge back yard with a separate entrance to the lower level, which has two bedrooms, bath, two living areas and a kitchen/dining area. The family care provider is a registered nurse with experience working in mental health facilities and with individuals with a mental health or intellectual disability diagnosis. She is the mother of a 12-year-old son who lives on the upper level of the home with her. She has a flexible working schedule that enables her to be available for interacting with potential clients. She enjoys sports-related activities with her son, taking trips and regularly attends church. There are no other occupants in the home at this time. There are no pets.

She enjoys attending church, shopping, watching TV and visiting the library. There is currently one other male in the home. There are no pets. The individual can be ambulatory or non-ambulatory. The house is wheelchair accessible.

They enjoy attending events and various activities, shopping, parks, movies, and taking vacations. The provider has a daughter with an intellectual disability and has participated in the Special Olympics as an Alpine Ski Coach, a member of the Area 23 Board of Directors, and a volunteer for ARC. The provider looks forward to welcoming a new member into the household and helping her live a full, more independent life. This family includes one small and very cute dog.

Louisa House

This lovely home features 4 bedrooms, a spacious living area, lots of privacy, and a peaceful environment. It is in located in a quiet neighborhood close to nearby shopping.

This family enjoys cookouts, swimming, arts and crafts, vacations, weekend outings, and trips to the beach. There is a small Bichon dog who also resides here. The provider has worked as a CNA for 17 years and a medications technician for 10 years. She has had an individual in her home for over 3 years now, and looks forward to welcoming another individual into her home soon. This home promises friendly, attentive support!

Culpeper House

This inviting home in Culpeper, VA is less than 2 minutes away from shopping, restaurants, and lots of entertainment. The family includes 2 adult daughters and 3 small, friendly dogs. They enjoy going to church, hosting events, and attending a variety of social activities with their friends and relatives. They travel to Huntsville, Alabama at least twice a year and enjoy taking annual vacations. Their lifestyle is active, fulfilling, and balanced with opportunities for relaxation. They have 5 years experience as family care providers and currently support one individual in their home, who has become a part of their family.

They are interested in supporting one more person who is ambulatory and able to reside in an upstairs bedroom that is completely furnished.

This home is filled with love, compassion, patience and understanding. They are a very loving family with strong Christian values and would like to welcome others to experience their home and family.

The family is close knit, kind, dedicated, and friendly. They enjoy bowling, movie nights, cookouts, football games, museums, and going to the library. The family is looking forward to inviting a new member into their home and helping that person become independent and increase all of her skills and talents to become a happy member of the community and a part of their family. There are no pets living in the home.

The provider and his family enjoy visiting the gym, walking, and traveling to new places. The home is only a short distance from many local attractions.

The provider has several years of experience working in the human services field, in one-on-one and group settings. He and his family welcome an active individual who they can share their love and experiences with. There is one small child in the home.

Charlottesville, VA

This 4 bedroom, 3 bath split level home is situated in a wonderful neighborhood, close to the hospital and across from major shopping areas.  Features include Wi-Fi, a television in every room, and a stair and tub lift which allow this provider to serve non-ambulatory as well as ambulatory individuals.  The family enjoys special nights out, frequent outings, and vacations four times a year.  Every day includes a home cooked meal and an outing.  There is one therapy dog at home, as well as access to horses.

This provider has over 20 years of human services experience and is equipped and ready to welcome a new member into their household.

 

Hampton/Richmond/Eastern Shore

Virginia Beach, VA

The family of this one story ADA-ready home is ready to open their doors and hearts to one or two new family members.  This house has a ramp leading into the house, a full ADA-ready bathroom, a partial ADA-ready bathroom, 2 fully furnished and available bedrooms, and is conveniently located close to a park and town center.  The family enjoys movies, walks, concerts, and shopping. This provider and assistant are excited to offer their passion and wealth of experience to help support and enable new family members to live the life they want in their Virginia Beach community.

Virginia Beach, VA

This single-family home located in Virginia Beach is near all of the action, while still being located in a friendly neighborhood which includes a pond, community center, and plenty of scenic walking areas.  The home has a large furnished bedroom on the second floor right across from a full bathroom.  The first floor has a beautiful kitchen and plenty of warm and cozy family common areas. This house also offers an exercise room as well as a fenced in backyard.  The qualified Family Care Provider and her two Family Care Assistants are ready to open their doors and hearts to a new family member to support, enrich, and offer the chance to achieve lifetime goals.
